Singing is an important part of our worship of God.  It is one of the primary ways that God has instructed us to worship Him.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Singing, in of itself, is an act of worship that brings glory to God, but it is also a means of remembering and meditating on God’s word, as well as a way of responding emotionally and expressively to who God is and what He has done.
